The Only Shortcut To Your Goals!

Jairek Robbins

How are you showing up?

It’s a question we often ask ourselves and also ask the people we work with. Your goals and aspirations are great, but how are YOU showing up to achieve those goals.

Are you immersing yourself in an environment that is supportive? Are you eliminating behaviors that affect your personal performance? Are you educating yourself?

Are you FEEDING Your passion?

Our favorite way to feed our passions, outside of taking action, is reading or listening to books that inspire us. In this day and age, our ability to access information about the things that we say we want is almost limitless. We are passionate about reading and improving our personal and professional performance. Why? Because there is so much information that can help you cut down the time it takes to get to your end goal.  Learning from someone else’s experience, or research is truly an investment in yourself and the only real shortcut to your goals.

This week we wanted to share with you what we are reading that is making an impact for us or that we get incredible insight from. Here are some books we are reading and loving!

Personal Performance:

Give and Take, A Revolutionary Approach to Success By Adam Grant

Amazon description: For generations, we have focused on the individual drivers of success: passion, hard work, talent, and luck. But in today’s dramatically reconfigured world, success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with others. In Give and Take, Adam Grant, an award-winning researcher, and Wharton’s highest-rated professor examines the surprising forces that shape why some people rise to the top of the success ladder while others sink to the bottom. Praised by social scientists, business theorists, and corporate leaders, Give and Take opens up an approach to work, interactions, and productivity that is nothing short of revolutionary.

Firms of Endearment: How World-Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose

Amazon description:Today’s best companies get it. From retail to finance and industries in between, the organizations who recognize that doing good is good business are becoming the ultimate value creators. They’re changing their culture and generating every form of value that matters: emotional, experiential, social, and financial. And they’re doing it for all their stakeholders. Not because it’s simply politically correct, because it’s the only path to long-term competitive advantage.

These are the firms of endearment. Companies people love doing business with, working for and collaborating with as partners. Since the publication of the First Edition, the concept of corporate social responsibility has become embraced as a valid, important, and profitable business model. It is a trend that has transformed the workplace and corporate world.  This Second Edition updates the examples, cases, and applications from the original edition, giving readers insight into how this hallmark of the modern organization is practiced today.

We hope you enjoy them!

To Your Success,
